MedMinder, the company that focuses on polypharmacy and senior patients, has closed a US$35m fund to invest in at-home treatments for elderly people.
The funds, provided by SWK Corporation and by its already equity partner Accelmed Partners, will build virtual care, and clinical and technological capabilities for older people.
MedMinder provides connected pill dispensers, pharmacy care and personalised clinical care, aiming to lower the overall cost of healthcare and to extend opportunities for ageing at home.
Mike Edwards, CEO at MedMinder, said: “We are honoured to establish a relationship with SWK and expand our relationship with Accelemed.
“The demand for our services from patients and pyros has never been greater. This additional investment will allow MedMinder to more deeply impact the lives of polypharmacy and senior patients nationally.”
Dr Uri Geiger, managing partner of Accelmed, said: “Accelmed is delighted to expand its partnership with MedMinder. Our partnership has resulted in significant growth that has helped to reduce the overall cost of our healthcare system while positively impacting thousands of patients through MedMinder’s innovative solutions to long-terms care. We are excited to accelerate our collective impact.”
MedMinder’s automatic pill dispenser is the first digital device that offers medications from its integrated pharmacy directly to patients in pre-organised daily trays for the entire month.
