DigitalHealth.London Launchpad open for applications

DigitalHealth.London is inviting the next generation of digital health companies to apply to its Launchpad programme.

The Launchpad supports companies that have a high potential of helping overcome the challenges facing the NHS and social care.

Previous cohorts have included Alva, a digital health platform serving menopausal women, and the Exercise clinic, which supports patients with cancer.

The new cohort will be given access to knowledge-sharing events that will help them understand the demand and bring their product or service to the market.

The programme will provide 12 hours of support over three months.

Support will include bespoke 1:1 guidance, workshops and advice from key founding and strategic partners.

Jenny Thomas, Programme Director, DigitalHealth.London, said:

“I’m delighted to announce the opening of applications to be part of the next cohort of companies on the DigitalHealth.London Launchpad programme.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the biggest challenges the NHS has faced but has also highlighted the importance of digital innovation and the pivotal role it will play in the recovery and the future of the NHS.

“I’d urge any digital health company who is developing a product or service that could support the NHS to consider applying for this programme.”

Emily Curtis, Co-Founder, The Exercise Clinic, added:

“We were delighted to join cohort two of DigitalHealth.London’s Launchpad, a brilliant programme supporting early-stage digital technology innovators.

“The programme has helped us understand the steps we need to take to work with NHS organisations and provided us with opportunities to connect with industry experts as well as other innovators.

“I’d encourage any health tech innovators that are close to launching a product or service, to apply to this programme.”

The NHS Long Term Plan aims to increase the range of digital tools and services available to patients.

It also aims to make the NHS App a ‘digital front door’ that gives patients access to their own medical records.

However, a 2019 report by NHS Digital found that 55 per cent of over 65s lack at least one essential digital skill and 53 per cent of over 65s have none of the foundational digital skills they need.

Digital health companies have until February 13 to apply for the Launchpad programe, with support for successful companies commencing at the beginning of March.
