Beltone announces launch of two new hearing aids

America’s number one hearing care retailer is launching two new hearing aids.

The two new hearing aids, called Beltone Achieve and Beltone Imaging Custom CIC, are part of the company’s dedication to patient care.

Beltone president Mike Hallorain said: “Our goal is to encourage more people to treat their hearing loss sooner as there are options available for everyone, which is why we continue to create a strong portfolio of solutions.

“As hearing aid technology evolves, we continue to listen to the requests of our patients and independent practice owners to address their needs and are excited to be able to offer two innovative new hearing solutions that fit these demands.”

Beltone’s new hearing aids use surround sound to help patients hear what is happening in front, back, above and below. This is a breakthrough technology as many traditional hearing aids limit overall awareness of sound by focusing mainly on the sound in front when moving into a noisy environment.

Age-related hearing loss

Hearing loss is common, particularly in older people. Presbycusis, or age-related hearing loss, comes on as a person gets older. It seems to run in families and may occur because of changes in the auditory nerve and inner ear.

Presbycusis may make it hard for a person to tolerate loud sounds or to hear what others are saying.

Why do we lose our hearing as we get older?

As an individual gets older, a degeneration occurs within the inner ear and along the nerve pathways that can impact hearing.

It can be difficult to distinguish age-related hearing loss from hearing loss that can occur for other reasons, such as long-term exposure to noise.

Conditions that are more common in older people, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, can contribute to hearing loss. Hearing loss can also be caused by medications that are toxic to the sensory cells in the year, such as some chemotherapy drugs.
